At Leading Note Studios, our Rock Band Program is all about teamwork, creativity, and the thrill of live performance.
About the Programs
**You must be enrolled in a Leading Note Studios private lessons in order to join a band.
Perfect for young musicians with 2+ years of private Instruction and ready to play and perform with a group.
Students are grouped into bands and guided by expert instructors as they learn how to:
Rehearse and perform as a group
Take turns leading and soloing
Write songs and collaborate
Arrange their own setlists

Perfect for younger & beginner musicians ages 7+
Our Junior Rock Band is designed especially for students who are new to band playing or not quite ready for the fast pace of our performance-heavy Rock Band program.
This program focuses on:
Learning how to play together as a band
Building rhythm, listening, and confidence
Understanding band roles (drums, guitar, keys, vocals)
Growing musicianship in a supportive, age-appropriate setting
Junior Rock Band students work toward an exciting showcase performance at the end of the session—keeping things fun, focused, and low-pressure.
While our traditional Rock Band emphasizes multiple performances and gig preparation, Junior Rock Band prioritizes learning, teamwork, and readiness for future bands.

It’s all about building confidence, developing musicianship, and sharing the joy of music with others.
Led by our experienced staff—skilled in drums, guitar, bass, piano/keyboards, vocals, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, and recording—students receive professional-level coaching in a supportive, fun environment.
Weekly Band Rehearsals & Performances
Each band meets weekly with a dedicated teacher to rehearse and learn songs.
Students design their own unique set to perform.
From choosing a band name and developing a signature sound to coordinating their overall vibe and look, students take ownership of their musical identity.
Bands rehearse regularly and perform at community events throughout the San Diego area, gaining valuable experience and having a blast along the way.
